I agree. I think we are missing significant nuance on a good number of species now you mention it.

NatureMapr requires a "Native and naturalised" status just as every botanical information system and flora has.
Including for _Cocos nucifera_:
– base information: indigenous (aka native)
– more nuanced basic information : indigenous (aka native) and spread further than natural range by horticulture and unsustainable activities such as coastal beaches' vegetation destruction by non-indigenous people.
(An unfortunately common example:

[English language place name improved by me: 'Cape Tribute'
rather than James Cook's narcissistic vain trivia name he made up in ignorance and denial of Yalanji people and their place name, about the ship 'Endeavour', Cook, Banks and their crew 's ignorance of the great barrier reefs and near shore reefs, failure(s) in navigating, majorly damaging the ship, their own arrogant–ignorant fault.
Rhetorically i say 250+ years later to Cook, Banks and crew in 2025! hindsight!:
Do not psychologically project your own failings, vulgar ignorances, invasions and destructions, onto the respective Country, including onto its seascapes, landscapes, peoples, and so rich and so diverse life.]
