White setae on head, pronotum and pygidium. Some setae at the posterior corners of the pronotum and rounded apices of the elytra with re-entrant angle to distinguish from A. suturalis.

Distinguished from A. montanus by the lack of continuous bands of white setae across the abdominal sternites, the broad and long anal tuft of orange hair, and the more concave sides of the male clypeus.
