Monthly Update

Hello NatureMaprs!

It's been awhile since I wrote the last update for you all. From now I've decided to go with monthly updates focusing on the most notable developments to our platform, relevant events and happenings:

• We are excited to announce the premiere of our marketing film by Richard Snashell at Spinning Reel in collaboration with ACT Parks and Conservation.
• We now ensure the highest level of identification; sending sightings that cannot be identified to its relevant herbarium or special collection to receive expert identification of the physical specimen. 
• Sightings uploaded via our website now have level one classifications (see image below) for users who don't know the specific species. This can be a daunting part of the upload process and we are working to have level-one classifications built into our app too. This refines your sighting's taxonomy, enabling us to notify the relevant expert moderators of the type of plant or animal you sighted.

• Within our app, your account and upload display(s) now have a direct link to your profile page on our website.
• We now have a landing page for conservation land managers, check out the video for details.
• Several features and bugs encountered during surveys, audio uploads and maps have been rectified.
• Several bugs found in 'Nearby Sightings' and Field guides have been rectified.
• Location stats and field guides are now inserted into new polygons.
• We have joined the Australian Citizen Science Association and recently visited Raford's geography department, demonstrating the app to teachers who will begin its roll-out to year seven and eight students in 2024.
