The strong weeping habit of the leaves would indeed suggest X. malacophylla, on account of the spongey texture of the leaves. This is a very distinctive characteristic of the species, whereby all other arborescent Xanthorrhoea possess the very tough, sclerophytic leaves and would not necessarily exhibit such a prominent weeping habit. The leaves also appear too narrow for X. latifolia. X. malacophylla is a species known to habit Watagans NP.
