User's notes

I think it was a brittle gum and scribbly gum hybrid as it had distinct features of both species according to the book "Photographic Guide to Native Plants of the ACT" Such as for the Brittle gum the bark was a pinkish/ reddish color that came off to reveal creamy bark. Also is left a fine white powder when touched. The features that were similar to the scribbly gum including bark that was compressed into wrinkles at the base of the branches and the "insect scribbles". Also the fruit shape matched to the scribbly gum but had two slightly different shaped fruits.

You may well be correct but I can't help but wonder whether there may be some E.blakelyi in there as well, this tree is certianly not true to type for any of our local species. Having not seen this tree I am happy with the ID of Eucalyptus sp. Euc hybrids are a messy group, so I think this is for the best.
