Nice sighting and photos, thanks Helen. Did you notice any eggs, larvae or pupae/pupal shells on the wattle?

Sorry Suzi, I didn't check! I was trudging through thick, high, wet grass and pretty keen to get back at this stage. Will remember for next time.

No worries. If you do make it back, you might also want to look for attendant ants on the wattle, they should guide you to any immature stages of the butterfly on the plant. Check out page 183 in the ACT butterfly field guide in case you're unfamiliar with what these looks like.
