I saw something very similar at Mt Imlay: Aphaenogaster longiceps (Funnel ant) on 24 Oct 2019 except I thought about 10mm long, which Kim said was a queen. 18mm long is a pretty large specimen. I'm not confident enough of the similarity to confirm it though. Excellent photo.
